FDA approved STAR Patient Specific Instrumentation (the STAR PSI System) for use with Enovis’ STAR® total ankle replacement system.
STAR PSI provides a personalized pre-operative plan for each patient. Surgeons receive and review a 3D visualization of the patient’s ankle joint, including information about any existing implants or bone defects, to plan for the total ankle replacement case.
The product is entering Early Product Surveillance in December, with plans to fully launch by the end of March 2023.
The STAR PSI System is one of several new products introduced by Enovis Foot & Ankle this year, such as the DynaNail Helix™ and the Arsenal Ankle® Plating System.
In its 3Q22 financial reporting, Enovis leadership shared an update on the segment, noting that foot and ankle sales enjoyed a rebound after moderate disruption from the STAR ankle product due to channel consolidation and a design refresh.
