Driving Force announced the acquisition of Vertebral Motion Analysis (VMA) technology from Wenzel Spine. The acquisition positions Driving Force VMA as the exclusive owner and operator of the motion imaging system.
The VMA system uses dynamic fluoroscopy and proprietary software to produce spinal instability injury images.
“Acquiring the VMA technology allows us to take control of its future, accelerate innovation, and expand access to providers and patients nationwide,” said Walter Bergeron and Sam Frentzas, Founders of Driving Force. “We believe VMA will become the gold standard for diagnosing spinal ligament injuries, giving providers a competitive edge, improving patient outcomes, and increasing case value in the legal and insurance arenas.”
Driving Force plans to build a national network of imaging centers and offer exclusive regional rights to medical groups who adopt the technology. The acquisition also ensures continued development of the VMA platform, training, and back-end reporting infrastructure. Financial terms of the VMA asset sale were not disclosed.
