DePuy Synthes entered into an exclusive agreement with Pacira Pharmaceuticals for U.S. co-promotion of EXPAREL® local analgesic across its joint reconstruction, spine, sports medicine and trauma businesses. The initiative will support hospital customers’ efforts to improve clinical outcomes, reduce costs and enhance patient satisfaction.
EXPAREL provides non-opioid pain control at the surgical site. Reduced pain allows the opportunity for earlier weight bearing and mobilization, and more patients discharged to home rather than interim care.
Co-promotion will commence in 1Q17.
At the beginning of January, JNJ Healthcare Systems announced CareAdvantage and Orthopaedic Episode of Care Approach services for health systems. The process identifies the customer/health system’s needs and objectives pertaining to the delivery of value-based care. This feeds into an action plan that includes metrics to measure results.
