The cultivate(MD) Capital Fund II of Genesis Innovation Group made an investment in Genesis Software Innovations (GSI), developer of software solutions that will initially focus on the orthopedic space.
GSI’s platform seeks to improve efficiencies, decrease costs and create greater patient satisfaction. The suite includes:
- GSI Recon™, 3D/2D orthopedic implant templating software for surgical planning
- GSI Recon Inventory™ to address inventory and sterilization for hospitals and surgery centers
- GSI Insight™ for data collection and patient satisfaction
- GSI Touch™ patient optimization software to assist in surgery preparation and recovery
Don Running, Vice President R&D for Genesis Innovation Group, commented on the adoption of technologies may be able to make a significant impact on community health. “We seek to come alongside group practices and offer them innovative, time neutral solutions that will allow them to attract a greater number of patients who will end up more satisfied with their outcomes, which will generate more revenue without additional effort required from the surgeon or staff or adding cost to the system.”
Genesis Innovation continues to invest in orthopedic and spine companies with breakout technologies. In 2019, these have included Embody for soft tissue repair, Magnesium Development for resorbable magnesium alloy material and HAPPE Spine for porous, bioactive PEEK material.
