ConforMIS entered into a settlement and limited patent cross-license agreement with Smith & Nephew that resolves all patent disputes between the companies stemming from a 2016 lawsuit.
Pursuant to the agreement, Smith & Nephew is required to pay ConforMIS US $10.5MM.
In 2016, ConforMIS filed a lawsuit against Smith & Nephew in the U.S. District Court for Massachusetts that alleged Smith & Nephew’s Visionaire® patient-specific cutting guides, as well as implants used in conjunction with Visionaire, infringed on eight of ConforMIS’ patents.
