Acumed and OsteoMed, both owned by Colson Medical, will gradually integrate over the coming year. Colson will maintain both the Acumed and OsteoMed brands, with the combined business covering the hand, upper extremity, foot and ankle, trauma, craniomaxillofacial and sports medicine markets.
Acumed CEO Sharon Wolfington will lead the combined business. She said, “We are uniting the strengths of Acumed and OsteoMed to enhance the experience of our customers and their patients. We will continue to offer a growing product portfolio for both the Acumed and OsteoMed brands, leverage investments in systems and processes, and create business continuity with manufacturing and inventory in multiple locations.”
Earlier this year, Acumed rolled products from Acute Innovations, an Acumed company that manufactures systems to treat traumatic chest wall injuries, into its portfolio.
ORTHOWORLD estimates that Acumed generated $310.6 million in revenue for 2019, while OsteoMed’s revenue totaled $141.6 for the same period.
