DJO Global announced a clinical trial for a new indication of the CMF OL1000™ Bone Growth Stimulator.
The company’s Encore Medical subsidiary applied for an Investigational Device Exemption (IDE) study with FDA for an indication of the Combined Magnetic Field (CMF) technology in the fresh fracture market. The prospective, randomized, double-blinded, controlled, multi-center clinical study will evaluate CMF OL1000 as a noninvasive adjunctive treatment for closed ankle fractures requiring surgical stabilization. Enrollment commenced in January 2017.
Battery-powered CMF devices can be used with non-magnetic internal or external fixation, over a cast or brace.
