Carevature Medical announced successful completion of 1,000 procedures using the Dreal® decompression platform. Of these, over 1/3 took place in the U.S.
Dreal is used to cut bone in neurosurgical and spinal applications. The curved, powered, single-use decompression system supports open and minimally invasive indications, and has been used in a variety of procedures including lumbar decompression/foraminotomies with and without fusion, anterior cervical discectomy and fusion, transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion, etc.
Dreal is sold globally; U.S. launch began in 2016.
Carevature seeks to grow its line of bayoneted Dreal MIS versions to enable visualization while decreasing the need to remove healthy tissue to achieve decompression.
