Brainlab received FDA 510(k) clearance to market Cirq® Robotics in the U.S. for spinal applications.
The lightweight robotic arm supports navigated spinal surgery in surgeons’ existing workflows, integrating seamlessly.
Cirq is lightweight at 22 lbs., and mounts directly onto any O.R. bed rail and is surgical navigation ready. It provides a working channel for drilling and pedicle screw placement, and can be used with any spinal hardware, so the surgeon can continue to use preferred tools.
Rainer Birkenbach, Chief Technology Officer at Brainlab, said, “Since March 2019 when Brainlab acquired Medineering, we’ve been looking forward to bringing Cirq to American spine surgeons. Now clinicians in the U.S. have access to robotic support for their spinal surgeries at an accessible price point.”
