BandGrip entered into an exclusive agreement with Medline Industries for sales, marketing and distribution of their BandGrip Micro-Anchor Skin Closure.
The BandGrip 3.5″x1.5″ bandage helps orthopedic surgeons reduce wound closure time by more than 30% and improve patient ambulation. Incisions are closed without needles or staples, but rather non-invasive micro-anchors that grip the skin gently and securely to pull wound edges together.
BandGrip may be especially suitable for surgeons who have adopted telemedicine protocols in their post-op patient care. There is no need to change dressings on a regular basis, and patients can shower 24 hours after application. The smooth surface also eliminates the risk of suture whiskers or staple loops catching on fabric, allowing patients to resume normal activity or begin rehabilitation with confidence.
Further, patients can remove the closure at home, obviating the need for a return visit to the physician for suture/staple removal.
“We are thrilled to have this exclusive relationship with Medline,” said Fred Smith, Founder and CEO of BandGrip. “We anticipate extraordinary growth in these transformative times in healthcare. We are pleased to play a role in improved patient care, especially with telemedicine now reaching a tipping point.”
