BBS-Bioactive Bone Substitutes’ patent application, “A Method for Preparing a Bone Protein Preparation and a Bone Protein Preparation Containing Polyethylene Glycol/Glycerol Matrix and Calcium Salt Granules,” has been accepted in Canada. The patent has been valid in European and Eurasian regions for three years.
The patent protects BBS’ ARTEBONE® bone substitute based on tricalcium phosphate and bone proteins. It is primarily used to treat bone defects in extremities such as foot and ankle. In the future, ARTEBONE may be expanded for indications in the tibia and spine.
