Amedica (AMDA) entered into a 10-year agreement granting Weigao Orthopedic the exclusive rights to sell, market and distribute Amedica-branded silicon nitride spinal implants in the People’s Republic of China.
Minimum annual purchase requirements of 20,000 units in the first year will increase to 50,000 units in year six, following regulatory clearance in China. Weigao will leverage its expertise in regulatory navigation for medical devices to accelerate Chinese clearance of AMDA’s products.
The partnership may also eventually extend beyond spine applications, to also address hip and knee products.
