Amedica completed the sale of its commercial spine business to CTL Medical, which is now exclusive owner of the metal and silicon nitride spine product portfolio. Amedica will proced to focus on its core biomaterials and OEM business.
As announced last month, Amedica and CTL entered in an asset purchase agreement for total consideration of up to US $10MM.
Manufacturing, R&D and all intellectual property related to the core silicon nitride biomaterial remains with Amedica, which will serve as CTL’s exclusive OEM provider of silicon nitride products.
CTL Medical plans to apply the attributes of silicon nitride across its entire product portfolio. The company was founded in 2016 and develops custom instruments and implants to treat the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine.
