AlloSource revealed that ProChondrix® CR fresh cryopreserved osteochondral allograft now has a two-year shelf life, based on the results of real-time testing.
This cartilage restoration therapy provides live, functional cells, an intact extracellular matrix and other biological components for repair and regeneration of damaged cartilage. The two-year shelf life post-cryopreservation addresses the challenge of a short placement timeline, allowing more flexibility for hospitals and surgeons.
AlloSource and Stryker launched ProChondrix CR cryopreserved osteochondral allograft for articular cartilage repair in 2018. Stryker distributes AlloSource biologic sports medicine products per terms of an agreement entered in 2017.
