Our History

ORTHOWORLD® was founded in 1992 as Knowledge Enterprises by orthopaedic industry executives, John and Shirley Engelhardt. In the decade that followed, ORTHOWORLD (a.k.a. Knowledge Enterprises) realized robust growth by listening and responding to customer requests for merger and acquisition assistance and market intelligence.

The company’s high-level strategic view, coupled with its fiercely customer-centric culture, fueled the introduction and rapid adoption of the company’s core “off the shelf” products such as BARE BONES®, ORTHOKNOW® and others

Today, the legacy of the founding principals lives on through its senior management team comprising more than 25 years of orthopaedic industry service. ORTHOWORLD is now a highly specialized publishing firm offering strategic intelligence, integrated advertising and educational conferences exclusively to the global orthopaedic market.
