The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) launched the Shoulder and Elbow Registry (SER) in the U.S. The registry will initially collect data on total shoulder arthroplasty, adding rotator cuff repair and total elbows in 2019.
SER is AAOS’ second anatomical registry established to track survivorship curves and revisions, following the American Joint Replacement Registry, tracking hips and knees. SER was developed with help from the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons society, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and the Arthroscopy Association of North America.
