PrecisionOS Technology secured US $2.3MM in Series A funding. The company produces high fidelity virtual reality software for surgeon education and pre-operative planning, and offers surgical metrics with haptic feedback.
Additionally, PrecisionOS is developing pre-op planning software that will allow surgeons to input images of a specific patient’s anatomy before performing a simulated procedure.
The round was led by AO Invest with other undisclosed investors.
“VR’s ability to offer a safe environment to make mistakes is highly valuable in providing surgeons with the building blocks on which to learn,” said Dr. Danny P. Goel, surgeon and CEO. “It allows surgeons to practice, improve their decision-making, and, importantly, have the opportunity to fail. This offers a great amount of value to our surgeons – and ultimately to our patients.”
