Integra Enters Agreement to Develop a Short Stem and Stemless Shoulder System

Integra LifeSciences signed a license agreement with Consortium of Focused Orthopedists to co-develop a short stem and stemless shoulder system. Design features will address limitations of currently available systems.

Stemless and short stem shoulder designs are fueling growth of surgical procedures in the extremities reconstruction market. Announcements in this category from 2018 include:

  • Full U.S. launch of the Arthrosurface stemless OVOMotion™  total shoulder 
  • FDA 510(k) clearance for Exactech's Equinoxe® Stemless Shoulder
  • FDA 510(k) clearance for Shoulder Innovations' InSet Humeral Short Stem system for total and partial shoulder arthroplasty
  • FDA 510(k) clearance for the Zimmer Biomet Sidus® Stem-Free total shoulder
