OrthoSensor Shares New VERASENSE Clinical Highlights -

New clinical data suggest that use of OrthoSensor's VERASENSE  sensor-assisted technology for total knee arthroplasty helps address tissue balance and improve patient outcomes. Studies indicate that without VERASENSE, surgeons are able to balance the knee ~50% of the time, while VERASENSE enabled a balance rate of 90%. Balanced knees perform better clinically in many patient-reported outcomes following TKA, with 98% satisfaction at three years post-op, improved "forgotten joint" scores, higher range of motion and fewer post-op manipulations for stillness. OrthoSensor believes that VERASENSE can save up to $725 per patient by lowering variables in post-op and post-acute care. The company is developing MotionSense™, a wearable patient data collection sensor, and an intra-op sensor for reverse shoulder arthroplasty. (OrthoSensor, Inc., 3/12/19)
