Miach Orthopaedics BEAR Implant ACL Repair Study -

Miach Orthopaedics announced study results showing that torn anterior cruciate ligaments (ACLs) treated with the Bridge-Enhanced® ACL Repair (BEAR®) implant were similar to the native ACL at one year, based on MRI imaging. The study compared 10 patients treated with BEAR to 10 treated with traditional hamstring autografts, using the native ACL as reference. ACLs treated with BEAR had a cross-sectional area (quantity), signal intensity (quality) and sagittal orientation that were similar to the native ACL at 12 months, while hamstring autografts were significantly larger and more vertically oriented than the native ACL at 24 months. (Miach Orthopaedics, 7/23/19)
