Zimmer Biomet acquired CD Diagnostics, developer of immunoassays and biomarker testing to inform treatment decisions. Financial terms were not disclosed.

JRI Orthopaedics acquired Sheffield Medical Products, designer of the AEON cemented total hip. 

Wright Medical received a binding offer under which Corin Orthopaedics would acquire Wright's hip/knee business for 29.7MM in cash (~US $33MM). The proposed transaction is expected to close by early 4Q16.

Medtronic acquired Responsive Orthopedics, a start-up focused on sales of low-cost hip and knee replacements. A primary knee is slated for commercial U.S. availability within 1H17, followed by a primary hip in 1H18.

Zimmer Biomet closed its previously-announced acquisition of Cayenne Medical, a manufacturer of soft tissue repair and reconstruction products for the knee, shoulder and extremities.

EQT, a global private equity group, with Hansjörg Wyss as co-investor, has completed acquisition of the majority of shares of Lima Corporate. 

Invibio Knee partnered with Maxx Orthopedics to develop a PEEK-OPTIMA®-based femoral knee replacement.
